The Snow-o-meter, what it is and how it works

The Snow-o-meter is a way of estimating how deep the snow is in our garden. The Snow-o-meter is in the bottom right hand corner of the webcam picture below. It consists of four poles in a row. The poles are twenty, forty, sixty and eighty centimetres tall. The picture shows the Snow-o-meter when there is no snow.

If you can see all four poles, we have less than twenty centimetres of snow.
If you can see three poles, it means we have between twenty and forty centimetres of snow.
If you can see two poles we have between forty and sixty centimetres of snow.
If you can see one pole we have between sixty and eighty centimetres of snow.
If you can't see any of the poles then we have more than eighty centimetres of snow in the back garden (or it is too dark to see the Snow-o-meter).
